Producing Organic Wool The production of organic wool is very strictly regulated by the IMO Institue for Marketecology every link in the process must be carefully monitored. Many of the usual procedures involved in wool production alkaline baths and moth treatments are not permitted. Each stage must meet the standards of biodegradability and toxicity set out by the IMO which is why organic wool is at the moment fairly rare.
